Liquefied Petroleum Gas - LPG

Versatile, Efficient, and Ready for Delivery!

Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) is a widely used energy source known for its versatility, clean-burning properties, and efficiency. It is utilized across industries, households, and even in transportation. LPG can be composed primarily of propane, butane, or a mixture of both, depending on the specific use case. In this article, we will explore the different types of LPG, their compositions, and how they are utilized in various applications.

1. Propane-Dominant LPG

  • Composition: Predominantly propane (usually over 90%)
  • Uses: Propane-dominant LPG is ideal for use in colder climates due to its higher vapor pressure, making it a reliable fuel for heating systems, hot water, and cooking appliances. It’s also commonly used in industrial processes, outdoor grills, and portable stoves.

2. Butane-Dominant LPG

  • Composition: Predominantly butane (often over 90%)
  • Uses: Butane-dominant LPG is commonly used in warmer climates for domestic heating, cooking, and as a fuel for portable stoves and lighters. It’s also a crucial feedstock in petrochemical production, used to create synthetic materials and other chemical products.

3. Mixed LPG (Propane-Butane Mix)

  • Composition: A blend of propane and butane, often in ratios such as 50:50, 60:40, or 70:30, depending on the region and application
  • Uses: Mixed LPG is the most common form of LPG supplied for household and commercial use. The mixture is adjusted based on regional temperatures—more propane in colder regions and more butane in warmer climates. It is used for heating, cooking, and small-scale industrial applications.

4. HD-5 Propane

  • Composition: At least 90% propane with small amounts of propylene (C₃H₆) and other hydrocarbons
  • Uses: HD-5 propane is the highest grade used in residential heating and automotive applications. Its strict composition standards make it suitable for vehicles powered by propane and for recreational use in RVs and forklifts. It’s clean-burning and produces fewer emissions, making it environmentally friendly.

5. HD-10 Propane

  • Composition: Similar to HD-5, but with up to 10% propylene (C₃H₆)
  • Uses: HD-10 propane is typically used in industrial applications where a slightly lower purity is acceptable. It is suitable for use in large heating systems, industrial burners, and other heavy-duty machinery. The higher propylene content can result in lower combustion quality compared to HD-5.

6. Autogas (Automotive LPG)

  • Composition: Typically a mixture of propane and butane, with the ratio varying based on climate (more propane in colder regions, more butane in warmer areas)
  • Uses: Autogas is used as a clean and cost-effective alternative to gasoline and diesel in vehicles. In colder climates, the propane content is higher to ensure better vaporization and engine performance. In warmer regions, more butane is used to maintain fuel efficiency. LPG-powered vehicles are popular in many countries due to their lower emissions and lower fuel costs.

7. Industrial Grade LPG

  • Composition: A mixture of propane and butane, but with less stringent purity requirements compared to residential or automotive LPG
  • Uses: Industrial-grade LPG is used in manufacturing, construction, and other heavy industries where high-purity fuel is not required. It’s often used as a fuel for large-scale heating, furnaces, and for powering equipment such as forklifts and generators.

8. Commercial Grade LPG

  • Composition: Similar to industrial-grade LPG, but with tighter controls on the propane-butane mix for more consistent performance
  • Uses: Commercial-grade LPG is widely used in restaurants, hotels, and other businesses where consistent heating, cooking, and energy efficiency are crucial. It provides reliable fuel for commercial kitchens, heating systems, and other applications that require a steady energy supply.

Packaging and Delivery Options

To meet the varying needs of our customers, we offer several packaging and shipment options to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of LPG. Whether you require LPG for domestic use, industrial operations, or bulk supply, we have flexible solutions to meet your needs.

  • ISO Gas Tanks: For smaller-scale use, LPG is available in ISO gas tanks with a capacity of approximately 24,500 liters (with pressure ratings of 22 and 27.5 bar). Each tank holds around 12.4 metric tons (MT), making it an ideal option for medium-sized businesses and localized industrial operations.

  • Bulk Shipments: For larger industrial or commercial needs, LPG can be delivered in bulk. Our bulk LPG shipments are handled by dedicated vessels with capacities ranging from 3000 CUM to Very Large Gas Carriers (VLGCs) capable of transporting up to 100,000 cubic meters of LPG. This ensures a continuous supply of LPG for industries like energy production, manufacturing, and large-scale commercial operations.

  • Specialized Tanks for Storage: We also provide specialized tanks designed for safe storage and transportation of LPG. These tanks are built to the highest safety standards and are perfect for both temporary and long-term storage of LPG at industrial sites.

Safety and Quality Assurance

At the core of our LPG delivery services is a commitment to safety and quality. We adhere to international safety standards, ensuring that every shipment is carefully monitored and transported securely. Our storage and transportation equipment is regularly inspected and maintained to prevent leaks, spills, or any other safety hazards. Whether you need a small supply for home use or bulk deliveries for large industrial projects, we guarantee timely and efficient service.
